About EDEN

Eden

Apprentice Dairy Technologist - leading to a Foundation Degree c£15,000 in the first year, rising throughout the programme

This is a brand new initiative with only a few places to jump at. Will you land yourself one?

The dairy industry has come together to create EDEN - a groundbreaking training programme aimed at producing world-class dairy technologists for the future.

Right now you'll have dairy products in your fridge - from milk and butter to cheese and yoghurts. We produce some of life's essentials and that's why it's essential that we look to the future and start training the decision makers of tomorrow, today.

This 3-year structured training programme starts on the 28th September 2010 and will lead to a pioneering new Foundation Degree. EDEN will become a recognised benchmark against similar programmes across Europe and will take UK Dairy Education to the highest level in vocational training.

Arla Foods is proud to be sponsoring a number of places on this programme for people who have the drive, energy and ambition to take the lead and fulfil their potential. If you succeed on the programme, we will guarantee you a job opportunity with Arla Foods.

Throughout the 3 years you will learn the technology, chemistry, processes, automation and management procedures that take our products from the cow to the customer. You will be trained in effective project and financial management and you will develop the key personal qualities it takes to be successful in the dairy industry.

EDEN has been created in close consultation with Reaseheath College in Cheshire, the specialist-training academy for the UK dairy industry. It is here that you will spend 12-18 weeks per year as a course resident, during which time you will be developing your skills and knowledge in the purpose-built, £multi-million training dairy.

So you'll need to be flexible and have the confidence to live away from home when required. You'll be expected to be at Reaseheath on the Sunday night for a prompt start on Monday morning, the programme will finish reasonably early on Friday afternoon for those who wish to travel home, or you will have the option to stay at Reasheath over the weekend. When not at the college, you will be based at one of our Arla sites, where you will be given the opportunity to put your learning into practice and gain invaluable hands on practical experience.

We believe that EDEN is the future of our industry. Do you think you might be, too?
